Livestock Sector Being Modernized with Advanced Facilities; Development to Create New Employment Opportunities, Says Faisal Khan Jamali
QUETTA (KN): Provincial Minister for Livestock Sardarzada Faisal Khan Jamali inaugurated modern veterinary healthcare facilities at the Civil Veterinary Hospital Quetta to ensure the timely diagnosis and effective treatment of animal diseases.
The newly introduced facilities include a modern diagnostic laboratory, an operation theatre and an ultrasound unit. Officers of the Livestock Department, veterinary doctors and other relevant officials attended the inauguration ceremony.
Officials said the modern diagnostic laboratory would enable the timely and accurate diagnosis of various diseases in animals. The ultrasound facility would help in the effective examination of internal and reproductive health issues, while the newly established operation theatre would provide a better medical environment for treating complicated and surgical cases.
Speaking at the ceremony, Provincial Minister for Livestock Sardarzada Faisal Khan Jamali said the livestock sector held fundamental importance in Balochistan’s economy, with thousands of families across the province directly or indirectly dependent on livestock farming.
He said animal health was directly linked to the economic well-being of livestock-rearing families. Therefore, modern facilities for the timely diagnosis and effective treatment of diseases, vaccination and improved breeding were essential.
The provincial minister said the Balochistan government was taking practical measures to modernize the livestock sector so that livestock farmers could have access to better veterinary healthcare facilities at their doorstep.
He said special attention was also being given to the establishment of modern diagnostic centres, artificial insemination, vaccination, mobile veterinary services and the provision of animal treatment facilities in remote areas.
Sardarzada Faisal Khan Jamali said modern veterinary facilities would help reduce livestock mortality through timely diagnosis and treatment of diseases, improve animal health and productivity, and promote better breeding practices.
He expressed the government’s commitment to bringing the Livestock Department in line with modern requirements and providing maximum facilities to livestock farmers across the province. He said the measures would further strengthen the livestock sector and enable it to play an effective role in the economic development of Balochistan.
